The opportunity

Right now, we have an opportunity for a Project Engineer to join the Bridge Works team in Regional Maintenance Western.

    

We place a high priority on making safety paramount, both for the people working on our project sites and for customers travelling through them. In delivering our work, we work closely with our stakeholders and customers to ensure their views are heard and considered. 

  

As a Project Engineer you will be responsible for developing and delivering bridge construction and maintenance projects in order to achieve road safety, asset management and network efficiency objectives. This position is located primarily in Dubbo with travel requirements across the region.

You will be involved in:

  • Managing the project and delivery process including the delivery of both direct control and contract works to ensure nominated bridge construction and maintenance projects are developed and delivered to agreed time, cost, quality and scope requirements.

  • Managing the investigation and design process by developing project briefs and cost estimates, procuring and overseeing service providers, and monitoring and reviewing ongoing work programs too make effective use of resources and deliver agreed objectives.

About you

You have a four year civil or related engineering degree and knowledge of the technical aspects of materials, equipment and techniques used in bridge construction and maintenance.  You have experience in the preparation of competitive and accurate estimates, job programs, project delivery briefs, environmental and traffic management plans for assigned projects. You take time to develop your stakeholder relationships, keep abreast of industry trends and your own professional development.

Essential requirements  

  •  A  four  year  engineering  (Civil or related)  degree from  an  Australian  University  or equivalent  overseas qualifications.

  • Knowledge of the technical aspects of materials, equipment and techniques used in bridge construction and maintenance.

  • Experience in the preparation of competitive and accurate estimates, job programs, project delivery briefs and WH&S management plans, quality management plans, environmental management plans, and traffic management plans for assigned projects.

  • Experience in managing a direct control workforce to successfully undertake construction and maintenance projects.

  • Knowledge of tenders and contract management requirements.

  • Knowledge of computer based tools and techniques for project and information management.

  • Possess a current and valid Australian motor vehicle driver license and willingness to travel within the Western region.

  • Progression from Engineer Level 1 to Engineer Level 2 will be dependent on meeting the requirements of the TfNSW Professional Engineer Development Program.

Salary and Benefits

The salary for this position is RMS Engineer Level 1 - 2 ($91,887-$121,817) per annum, plus superannuation.
