The opportunity

We have an excellent opportunity that exists in our Legal team for a Paralegal.  This is a pivotal role within the team and will see you responsible for assisting a team of Lawyers with developing work-flow processes, integrating technology into operations, the drafting and preparation of legal documents and reports, and overall support of day-to-day activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist Lawyers with workflow; delivery of legal advice, monitoring and following up on key dates
  • Maintain and assist with legal file maintenance (opening, closing, archiving matter files)
  • Respond to issues and enquiries; all around administrative support
  • Evaluate and help develop improvements to the Legal teams’ operations
  • Assisting in preparation of legal documents: including confidentiality agreements, and other legal template documents
  • Liaising with the business on the preparation of relevant legal documents and delivery to the business
  • Assisting with the execution and sign off process for legal documents and maintaining register of executed documents
  • Document and agreement typing, retyping, editing, tracking, saving; file and email management
  • Maintenance of legal systems and support tools and processes, WorldDox; Open Practice, Legal Matter Tool (excel); Sharepoint; diaries / calendars / registers e.g. absence leave calendar; CLE register

What does success look like?

  • Prior experience in a similar role as a Paralegal / Legal Secretary / Administration Assistant in a legal team
  • Familiarity General legal terminology and legal principles
  • Excellent attention to detail plus time management skills
  • Technology savvy, knowledge of, or ability to quickly familiarise oneself with legal systems and tools
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to analyse and review template contracts and other legal documents
  • Research skills
