Holbrook Vet Centre (HVC) is seeking an enthusiastic person to join our artificial breeding team as an embryo transfer technician. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and organised individual and will involve a variety of work environments from field work to laboratory and office duties.
This full time position would suit a person who seeks to broaden their livestock and technical experience in the bovine artificial breeding sector. You will be learning from industry leaders in a very unique and specialised field. HVC provides reproductive services to seedstock producers from all over Australia. The role will mainly involve assisting vets crush side with the ET, laboratory work, handling semen and embryos and the associated inventory and program management. There would also be the opportunity for the position to involve some on farm work associated with the programming and management of the ET donors and recipients.
The successful applicant would also be required to travel as some of the work is undertaken on our client’s properties. A good work ethic is essential, as you will be part of a team of highly motivated people who have high professional standards.
The successful applicant will have good attention to detail and cleanliness and a high level of professionalism. Basic computer skills are required, but training in all other aspects of the position will be provided. The position would be well suited to an Animal Science graduate.
