The Planning Section provides service for and manages across portfolios of: Development Assessment, Plumbing and Drainage Assessment, Trade Waste compliance, Development Compliance, Infrastructure Planning, Land Use and Urban Design, Parking Control, Animal Management, Animal Shelter Services, Environmental Health, Pest Control, Disaster Management and Compliance and Complaint Investigation.



About the role

The purpose of this position is to provide administration and governance functions for all responsibilities within the section. The role will work in collaboration with other administrative teams to ensure professional support services are provided consistently. The role will do this by providing timely, efficient and effective support, primarily to ensure that this aligns with legislative and regulatory requirements, whilst ensuring that quality and attention to detail are not sacrificed. Staff in this role must be adaptable to an environment which has many competing and shifting deadlines and priorities. This role will act as the key interface with the Customer Service area within TCC and be the primary point of contact for customer enquiries for the section.



About you

  • Demonstrated excellent customer service skills. Actively endeavours to understand the customer and enhance the customer’s experience
  • Demonstrated experience in an administration role supporting a multi-disciplinary team
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills including the ability to organize and communicate information clearly through a variety of customer contact channels.
  • Ability to identify and prioritise competing tasks to achieve specific outcomes with accuracy and within strict legislative timeframes
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office suite and large Business Management Systems.
  • Proficient in the use of Guardian software during an unplanned disruption, including but not limited to a disaster or event.
  • High level of adaptability and flexibility, to work in an environment which has many competing and shifting deadlines and priorities
  • Highly developed interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to multi skill in order to be able to work across teams to ensure administrative tasks are carried out in the most efficient manner
