Foster Care Caseworker

MacKillop Family Services, a Catholic community agency, exists to support, foster hope and promote justice for children, young people and families, particularly those who have experienced distress, disadvantage and abuse.

Foster Care Caseworker – Grafton

Northern NSW provides foster care, Intensive Therapeutic Care and case management services. The program is based in Grafton and Lismore and operates across the Department of Family and Community Services (FACS) Northern NSW District. Services are funded through the FACS Permanency Support Program.

The Foster Care Caseworker is responsible for providing high quality and effective case management services within a therapeutic and trauma informed model for children and young people in foster care and supporting, supervising and assessing foster carers to ensure placements are safe, nurturing and child focused.

If you have tertiary qualifications in social work or a relevant discipline with demonstrated experience in casework with at risk youth within OOHC in residential or foster care settings or a similar child protection/ early intervention background and a good grasp of the child protection frameworks we would be keen to hear from you. This role will also require you to:

• Work collaboratively with other internal services and external support programs and stakeholders

• Conduct client visits, assess carers, accurately record all key interactions and case notes to ensure compliance

• Develop and review case management and behaviour support plans and work alongside carers building their capacity to meet the needs of the foster care child
