About the Role
We are seeking a focused and experienced Registered Nurse to join our Maroochydore Defence Force Recruiting team. This vacancy is for a Part Time member to work Monday to Thursday, with Fridays off. Hours are normally between 7:30am and 3:30pm, unless otherwise required. There is the requirement to be rostered on and work some (albeit limited) Public Holidays and Saturdays.
Our centre is close to the Sunshine Plaza and is only minutes to the nearest beach, café and restaurants. The centre boosts an active social committee with monthly offsite breakfast BBQs and regular morning teas.
This position supports our Medical Officers in medically assessing candidates to determine their suitability for entry into the Australian Defence Force. This role requires high level interpersonal skills and the ability to build strong relationships as it works as part of a multidisciplinary team including Medical Officers, Administration, Psychology, Recruitment and Military personnel. The successful applicant must have the ability to multitask; combining interviewing candidates with typing medical conditions into an electronic form.
Key deliverables of this position include:
- Conducting pre-employment medicals including; medical history interviews, spirometry, ECGs, various other assessments
- Maintenance and restocking of nursing rooms
- Review and successful implementation of systems and procedures
- Responding effectively and efficiently to client requests
- Providing sound administrative support and working as an administrator from time to time
As this site forms part of a Region and a wider National team we have great opportunities to travel the state as well as travel interstate for those who are interested, travel is always fully paid. CHG Defence considers all requests for professional development and attendance at conferences that will assist you within the DFR scope and for your individual development. Furthermore there is the recommended requirement for 3-4 weeks full time work (1 week in Brisbane) upon commencement of employment to fast track training and learning.

Skills and Experience
We require a candidate who has a sharp eye for detail and has previously worked with highly confidential and sensitive information. Confidence in navigating company software and general computer skills is essential for success as our Nurses are responsible for their own administrative functions. You will have previous experience in a busy environment and be able to demonstrate strong organisational skills, willingness to work as part of a team and flexibility in meeting the changing needs of the business. Experience in the delivery of pre-employment medicals or working within a Defence or on-base setting would be highly advantageous.
Applicants must be self motivated, be able to prioritise and multi task whilst working without supervision and be happy to help out to ensure team goals are met on a daily and monthly basis.
To be eligible for this position applicants must have unconditional registration with AHPRA, Australian Citizenship and be willing to undergo the Australian Defence Force (ADF) security clearance process.
