The Role

Shine’s Principal Consultants help create nuanced solutions, foster and improve Shine’s culture across sites, promote excellent practices and process improvements across Shine and support or take responsibility for pre-sales and business development in existing and prospective new clients. You will manage contract risk across multiple sites, and assist the Managing Consultant to ensure that we have appropriate rates, SOWs and MSAs in place.  Principal Consultants are leaders in relevant areas which may include Agile methodologies, cloud based technologies and Software / Solution Architecture. In addition, you will:

  • Respected expert in core languages / technology, able to quickly incorporate the best Shine experience across a variety of other languages and technologies

  • Ensure that practices are in place to continuously improve the quality of the codebase

  • Strong understanding of architecture to contribute towards nuanced solutions

  • Sound knowledge of current technology industry trends and how to apply them across clients

  • Ensure that the right Shiners are involved in  complex problem solving and debugging tasks

  • Oversee and communicate estimates for teams’ work, even when there is a significant degree of uncertainty around requirements or architecture and include assumptions and rationale to support the estimates

  • Oversee the management of scope and changes to scope to balance delivery and commercial needs

  • Support or take responsibility for pre-sales and business development in existing and prospective new clients

  • Create, lead and manage relationships with senior stakeholders within Partners
