APS4/5/6 Environmental Impact Assessment Officers

Our large Fed Gov client is seeking experienced officers to undertake Environmental Assessment activities.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Review complex development proposals and research their environmental impacts in accordance with legislative obligations and in consideration of associated policies.
  • Lead or support stakeholder engagement, including liaison with applicants and state/territory governments to discuss project assessments, and negotiate project approval conditions for projects.
  • Prepare Ministerial and Parliamentary correspondence and briefing material on issues.
  • Support the development of improved business processes for environmental assessments, including through stakeholder engagement.

The right candidate will have:

  • The ability to work collaboratively and cooperatively, establish and maintain productive working relationships to achieve individual, team and/or organisational objectives.
  • The ability to draw on available information and experiences to assess proposals for their environmental implications to support timely and accurate decisions.
  • Well-developed oral and written communication skills, including the ability to translate technical or complex information for a range of different audiences, including senior executives.
  • The ability to develop strong understanding and application of legislation and government decision making processes.

Eligibility:

  • To be eligible for any position in the Department you must be an Australian Citizen.
  • If a security clearance is required, the successful applicant must obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance level for the duration of their employment in the position.
