Microbiology Laboratory Testers × 2 (0.5)

  • Two part time positions available 
  • Both positions are 12 month maternity leave cover contracts from 9 April 2020 - 8 April 2021
  • Monday 10-6pm, Thursday 2-6pm and Friday 10-6pm

Reporting to the Sydney Laboratory Manager, you will apply your technical knowledge and expertise to facilitate analysis procedures with a focus on quality and process improvements.

Your new role will include, and is not limited to:

  • Use basic equipment including autoclaves, pipettes, dispensers and balances in preparation of samples for analysis;
  • Perform basic testing on samples in accordance with a defined test method;
  • General housekeeping and maintenance of the laboratory including stock rotation;
  • Perform quality control tests; 
  • Calibration of equipment;
  • Record data in LIMS.

What you’ll need to succeed:

In addition to recognised qualifications in Microbiology or an equivalent scientific discipline, you will need to demonstrate:

  • Experience in a similar Microbiology analytical laboratory environment;
  • Confidence in delivering high quality work in a fast-paced environment; 
  • An ability to work effectively within a team;
  • Strong attention to detail; 
  • LIMS experience is highly regarded but not essential;
  • Have the right to live and work in Australia.
