Business Change Partner - ASC Shipbuilding

 

  • An influential and autonomous role that will enable significant strategic change
  • Build change leadership capability with support from the Enterprise Change Team
  • Flexible work arrangements - Osborne based.
  • Two year fixed term contract with potential to extend

 

The largest shipbuilding endeavour in the nation's history has commenced in South Australia.

 

ASC Shipbuilding, a subsidiary of BAE Systems Australia, has been contracted to deliver nine anti-submarine warfare frigates to the Royal Australian Navy.

 

The Hunter Class Frigate Program will create and sustain more than 5,000 jobs across BAE Systems and the wider Australian defence supply chain over the life of the program.

About the Opportunity

 

As a key partner to the Business Unit, and operating as an integral member of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), you will create and deliver significant and sustainable change management strategies and plans that support the realization of business benefits. You will work autonomously and independently to adapt and apply the BAE Systems Australia Change Management Approach with the support of the Enterprise Change team. 

  • Operate as partner to the business unit providing strategic advice and highlighting risks related to the impact of change
  • Form positive, strong working relationships across the Business Unit and provide coaching support for change leadership.
  • Develop and facilitate the delivery of an appropriate change management strategy and plan for ASC Shipbuilding within the context of other changes across the enterprise
  • Manage the view of change across the ASC Shipbuilding, operating at both strategic and tactical level to drive the change management program in conjunction with ASC Shipbuilding's Senior Leadership Team
  • Hold and promote a shared vision for ASC Shipbuilding and the Hunter Class Frigate Program (HCFP) and be an integral part of the Senior Leadership Team
  • Lead the overall change management maturity and capability of ASC Shipbuilding and the Hunter Class Frigate Program (HCFP), leveraging the BAE Systems Australia Change Management Approach
  • Determine and agree the change management resource requirements for ASC Shipbuilding and liaise with the Enterprise Change Team to fulfil these requirements

 About you

As an ideal applicant for this opportunity, you'll have:

  • Significant experience partnering with senior stakeholders to develop and deliver end to end change management activities, including strategy, planning, and implementation
  • Experience in Organisational Development and cultural transformation  
  • Demonstrated application of change management principles, methodologies and tools (e.g. Prosci, ADKAR, Agile)
  • Proven experience coaching leaders and project managers in change management principles, methodologies and tools
  • Tertiary qualifications, preferably in business and/or change management
  • Strong influencing, stakeholder relationship and communication skills
  • Acute business acumen and understanding of organizational issues and challenges - particularly across diverse business units and locations
  • An ability to identify and assess change management risks, as well as develop and implement effective solutions
  • Proven ability to clearly articulate messages to a variety of audiences, including developing and executing communication plan
