About the role

Reporting to the Site Supervisor, you will be responsible for providing the highest quality service to clients. Complete work in a timely manner as directed by your supervisor, this includes but is not limited to collection of samples, sample preparation, fire assay, wet chem techniques, laboratory and instrumentation duties. The position is a residential DIDO role based in the Dubbo/Cobar region of NSW requiring the successful applicant to work 12 hour day shifts – 14 days on, 14 days off.  Site accommodation is provided for work weeks.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform sample preparation, fire assay, fusions, digestion, wet chemistry and analysis of processing and mining samples on a daily basis, ensuring key turnaround times and quality guidelines are met
  • Perform maintenance and operational functions on the equipment and instrumentation as required
  • Maintain quality services to our client in accordance with company policies and procedures
  • Follow all documented procedures to ensure adherence to corporate quality systems
  • Plant sample collection and analysis
  • Conduct general cleaning and maintenance of the laboratory areas.
  • Ensure safety procedures are followed in accordance with Site, State and local guidelines

 

Qualifications / Experience / Skills:

  • Previous laboratory experience essential
  • Previous experience working with fire assay techniques desirable
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work within a small team to achieve key objectives
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Computer literacy is essential
  • Previous sampling experience highly regarded
