ILS Technical Officer

Luerssen Australia is a subsidiary of Lürssen, a fourth generation family-owned German company that builds Naval defence vessels and luxury yachts from its nine shipyards across Northern Germany.

Luerssen Australia was engaged by the Australian Department of Defence as the prime contractor to build 12 Offshore Patrol Vessels for the Royal Australian Navy over a 10 year + project life. In addition, Luerssen Australia has plans for long term growth in the Asia Pacific Region.

ILS Technical Officer

We are looking for two people to join our team as ILS Technical Officers - one electrical and one mechanical.

Responsibilities

  • Review supplier data for accuracy
  • Perform Level of Repair Analysis to determine repair location of equipment
  • Develop maintenance documentation in accordance with standards
  • Populate and maintain Logistic Support Analysis in accordance with established processes
  • Participate in process review meetings
  • Assist in the compilation of schedule reporting

Requirements

  • Minimum of a trade or tertiary level qualification in engineering
  • Minimum 10 years experience in equipment maintenance with a mechanical or electrical focus
  • Proven history in the development and delivery of ILS support in a Defence or sustainment environment
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings
  • Equipment maintenance experience
  • Experience in a Defence environment (highly desirable)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Intermediate to advance Microsoft Office skills
  • Highly organised individual
  • Successful applicants will be required to complete an Australian Defence Force Security Clearance process, of which a minimum requirement is Australian Citizenship.
