ILS Lead Analyst

Luerssen Australia is a subsidiary of Lürssen, a fourth generation family-owned German company that builds Naval defence vessels and luxury yachts from its nine shipyards across Northern Germany.

Luerssen Australia was engaged by the Australian Department of Defence as the prime contractor to build 12 Offshore Patrol Vessels for the Royal Australian Navy over a 10 year + project life. In addition, Luerssen Australia has plans for long term growth in the Asia Pacific Region.

ILS Lead Analyst

Activities include but are not limited to maintenance analysis, obsolescence management and configuration management for the ILS team.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in project/program tasks related to ILS data analysis elements
  • Perform duties and responsibilities as member or functional expert on process improvement teams and Integrated Product Teams (IPTs)
  • Skills in supporting the development, review and maintenance of various project ILS analyses, such as:
    • Level Of Repair Analysis (LORA)
    • Bills of Material Development
    • Physical/Functional System development and maintenance
    • Task Analysis
    • Spares and Support & Test Equipment analysis
  • Provide ILS input to project/program plans and deliverables
  • Provide guidance and SME input into the assessment and evaluation of maintenance and supply support data from both internal (contractor) and external (subcontractor, customer) sources

Requirements to Perform the Role

  • Proven ILS Analyst experience in a Defence project (preferably Naval)
  • Trade qualification in an electrical or mechanical stream
  • Relevant degree qualification (desirable)
  • Substantial experience in fault finding, maintenance team leader, maintenance planning and development
  • Experience developing and maintaining Physical/Functional hierarchical structures
  • Proven experience with ILS processes and LSA
  • Understanding of Def (Aust) 5691 & 5692
  • Proven ability to use logistics analysis tools and systems
  • Ability to extract relevant logistics information from engineering drawings and technical data
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in the Microsoft Office suite of products.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
