What's the opportunity? 

A unique opportunity has arisen for a HR/ HSE Manager to join the Clean TeQ team based in our Notting Hill offices, Melbourne.

This is a senior advisory role providing the full range of technical HR and Industrial Relations support and advice to the Clean TeQ business in line with the organisation’s strategic business goals.  The role has an added dimension and responsibility of supporting the Health and Safety programs, process and compliance/governance.  The role reports into the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and has responsibility covering the Corporate business (Melbourne CBD and Perth CBD), the Water Division business (Notting Hill, Melbourne) and the Sunrise Project (NSW and Perth).

The role is an autonomous, business partnering role accountable for support and advisory across the whole spectrum of the business, both vertically and horizontally requiring effective communication and relationship skills which are critical to the success of the role.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Deliver HR/HSE programs and projects that bring about enduring improvements and enable the delivery of the organisational strategic plan
  • Point of contact for employees, managers and the Executive Committee for general HR and HSE advice (includes preparation of employment contracts, employee rosters, industrial relations, employee relations, wellness, policy application, audits, tender management plans etc.)
  • Preparation and presentation of monthly Exco and Board reports detailing high level issues, risks and opportunities on key activities
  • Remuneration benchmarking (internal and external calibration), data submission and analysis of salary survey reports
  • Assisting in preparing HR & HSE management plans and project requirements for tender submissions
  • Partnering with the business managers and project teams for safety inspections and audits
  • Managing the full framework of workforce skills and training matrix; including defining role criteria, assessing core competencies, and managing the training required to meet project/site requirements
  • Develop programs and build relationships to implement the employee value proposition and company values, with clear measures for defining success of organisational development.

Skills and experience:

  • Degree qualification in Human Resources (or related Business, Industrial Relations or Health and Safety)
  • Broad experience in the provision of Generalist HR support; Remuneration & Benefits, Industrial Relations, Learning & Development, Organisational Design, Diversity, Workplace Health & Safety, Recruitment & Talent Management
  • Cert IV in WHS would be highly desirable
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Demonstrated planning and project management skills
  • Positive attitude, self-driven and highly motivated
  • 7-10 years’ experience in technical role with strong HS (Health & Safety) experience (with at least 2-3 years of that in an operational, site or project setting)
  • Background in industrial, water or mining and resources sector would be highly desirable
