Gallery Consultant (Interior Designer - Residential Building)

THE OPPORTUNITY

We are looking for a full-time Gallery Consultant to join our talented and dedicated team of colour and electrical interior designers. This is a fixed term (up to 12 months) parental leave cover opportunity.

As a Gallery Consultant, your primary focus is to provide comprehensive support to our clients regarding the design, colour and electrical selections for their new homes (or investment property). This role is based out of our Traralgon office/gallery.

Some key accountabilities of this role include:

  • Provide clients with suggestions, guidance, and advice on design, product, colour, lighting and electrical options
  • Accurately document and record changes, selections, and upgrades, including writing detailed variations
  • Assist our Sales team and other departments with product, colour, and electrical questions and amendments
  • Attend supplier events and training (please note that some events may occur outside of standard opening hours)
  • Keep up-to-date with market trends and new product knowledge

Whilst our Gallery Consultants typically work Monday to Friday, some occasional work on a Saturday may also be required from time to time as our Gallery also hosts tours to prospective and current clients on Saturdays.

WHO YOU ARE

We're looking for someone who has:

  • Previous experience in interior design (in residential housing or similar would be highly advantageous but not essential)
  • Completed qualifications in interior design, or have equivalent industry experience
  • Ability to read floor and electrical plans
  • High attention to detail, including the ability to write detailed variations/contractual changes
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to build rapport quickly and easily with a diverse client group
  • Excellent time management skills - it's not just your own time you'll have to manage, but your client's time too!
  • A flexible and adaptable approach to work
