The Role:

Reporting to the Senior Communications Specialist, the Communications and Community Relations Coordinator is responsible for driving Tronox’s sponsorship and donation programs , helping to establish and maintain effective working relationships with community groups, and supporting internal communications to Tronox employees.

 

This regional role will be based primarily at our Kwinana Pigment Plant office, but comes with a requirement for regular travel to work with stakeholders across other sites and community locations. There will also be some requirement for out of hours work to coordinate/attend events and presentations

 

Your Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Deliver Community sponsorship and donation programs, and supporting delivery of regional corporate partnerships
  • Develop and chair site sponsorship committee programs.
  • Attend and support external events to promote Tronox Australia e.g. Fairs, shows, expos, schools, Community Forums.
  • Coordinate internal events to promote Tronox Australia e.g. Open Day, Golf Day, Site Visits
  • Working with site management, to support Native Title Agreements for individual sites.
  • Assist in development and execution of Aboriginal engagement program across Australia
  • Support the implementation of Tronox internal communications program (site, regional and global).
  • Liaise with functions and sites to produce high quality written and visual content, for various mass communication channels (regional newsletters, videos, team briefings, graphics. memos, TV screens, emails, town halls).

 

Essential Skills and Attributes:

  • Degree in Communications/Public Relations, or Community Relations/Development, or demonstrable relevant work experience.
  • Previous experience coordinating sponsorship and donations programs
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills. Ability to translate technical and/or complex information into appropriate messages that can be understood by non-technical audiences.
  • Internal or external communications experience
  • Able to engage and work well with diverse people from the entire span of the community

 

 

Desirable Skills and Attributes:

  • Previous experience in Native Title
  • Experience coordinating projects/teams/relationships across multiple and remote locations
  • Familiar with formal stakeholder management frameworks
  • Event management
