Operations Manager - Insurance Claims

As part of their strategic growth plans, this dynamic and successful organisation is seeking to appoint an Operations Manager to manage a large team in Sydney. This organisation has seen significant growth over the last 3 years. They are a market leader in this relatively new and ‘disruptive’ sector, and well placed to continue their expansion.  
Reporting the COO, and a key member of the senior leadership team, core responsibilities will include:

  • Day to day management of a large-scale customer / insurance claims operation.
  • Develop, monitor and meet targets for key performance indicators (people, processes, products, technology).
  • Continue to develop and maintain a high-performance culture, focussed on meeting customer needs and company objectives. Ensuring a positive and collaborative working environment, that will continue to attract the best talent.
  • Identify and implement process improvements and opportunities to enhance operational performance.
  
Although associated with the Insurance industry, they don’t operate in the mainstream, and could offer a refreshing alternative career opportunity for the right individual. The skills sought would include:

  • Previous operations management experience of 35+ staff, ideally in Motor Claims or Recoveries. 
  • A track record in successfully implementing business process improvement initiatives, and planning for and managing growth.
  • A good understanding of how IT can improve and drive business process and efficiency.
  • Strong stakeholder management and people skills. You’ll be someone who engenders loyalty and inspires staff.
  • Ability to analyse data and produce management reports.
  • Excel in a fast paced and dynamic environment.
