With branches in key areas including Charters Towers, Mareeba and Atherton, we are well positioned to support our customers in the region. Queensland Rural is part of Nutrien Ag Solutions – Australia.

 

We are currently offering a great opportunity for a driven Livestock Representative to join our team. Reporting to the General Manager, the focus of your role will be to represent Queensland Rural at sale yards and achieve the best outcome for buyers and sellers.

 



Job description:

About the opportunity:

 

You will provide quality service and support to producers and livestock clients including on farm consultation, technical support and conducting auctions at local sale yards. You will engage with your clients and ensure seamless livestock sales transactions including execution of livestock sales transaction documentation.  Promoting the business at industry events, field days and within the community, you will leverage your own current networks as well as working on developing new business. You will understand the requirements of beef cattle producers in the region and using your understanding of livestock production, you will position yourself as a trusted advisor and provide the highest level of customer service and secure the best results for your clients. 

 

About You:

 

To be successful, previous experience as an Auctioneer as well as in-depth livestock sales and cattle marketing expertise preferred but is not essential, as well as being able to point out desirable qualities of livestock on sale including age, breed, weight. You pride yourself on your ability to build solid and long-term relationships with customers and will have an existing client base of key producers (or the ability to quickly build one), a strong financial acumen and capable of developing sales plans to drive a sales performance within your region.  You must have a current driver’s license, with this role involving attendance and representation at local sales yards on a weekly basis, as well as travelling away on a regular basis.  You must also be well presented, punctual, self-motivated and reliable.
