Senior NDIS Programs Officer

Reporting to the NDIS Coordinator, you will play a key role in the development and implementation of NDIS activities and support to participants with a disability or medical condition focusing on their strengths and interests and improving their vocational and community independence skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting the NDIS Coordinator to provide direction, supervision and mentoring to team members
  • Delivering services designed to maintain and develop pre-vocational, recreational and community development skills to improve quality of life and gain employment outcomes
  • Assist with the expansion of NDIS support services across Adelaide metro
  • Actively market services and supports to participants, families and educators
  • Contribute to the program design and improvement of participant supports
  • Leading meetings with participants, families and other service providers
  • Regular participant contact including backfilling staff as required, service of clients on programs and with the Jobnet Employment Program
  • Meet outcomes, KPI’s and reporting timelines within budget 

Requirements for the position:

  • Proven experience working at a senior level within disability support, particularly with clients who have complex needs
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to build and maintain strong relationships and positive stakeholder engagement skills
  • Ability to demonstrate empathy and understanding of clients' needs
  • Sound administration and advanced computer skills
  • Project management and report writing will be highly regarded
  • Qualification in line with the disability or education sector is favourable, however, not essential
  • DCSI/DHS Disability Employment Screening
  • DCSI Child Related Employment Screening or DHS Working with Children Check
  • Current Driver's Licence
  • First Aid Certificate
  • Through Their Eyes certification
