Chemring Australia (CHA) is a leading developer, manufacturer and supplier of high quality energetic materials and products for the defence industry.

We are currently seeking a Graduate Engineers who will have responsibility for Quality assurance and control activities. The incumbents will work closely with the Operations team and all work areas to deliver the Company’s specific Quality goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Effectively manage documentation and data with a high level of detail
  • Develop engineering and technical documentation in accordance with internal and external customer requirements
  • Provide oral and written presentations as required
  • Oversee inspection (examination) of incoming materials and components, ensuring that they meet requirements
  • Manage the monitoring, measurement and review of internal processes – especially those that affect the quality of the organisations products
  • Perform Lot Acceptance Testing (LAT) and create required documentation for customers and internal stakeholders in accordance with the production schedule
  • Management of Energetic Waste Material

The Successful Applicant

 


To be successful in this role you will possess the following:

  • Tertiary level qualification in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical or related)
  • Intermediate level skill in MS Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook, Project and Inventor/Solidworks
  • Understanding of Project Management principles
  • Strong problem-solving skills using root cause analysis tools
  • Ability to apply quality principles and recommend improvements to quality problems as part of a team
  • Highly effective communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal

Desirable

  • Experience working in a Defence environment
  • Experience and strong technical knowledge of energetic/chemical materials
  • Demonstrated experience in maintaining complex measuring devices (e-chambers / x-ray etc)

As a Defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants must be Australian citizens and eligible to obtain and maintain appropriate clearance.

International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) are applicable and as such, your nationality may be a factor in determining your suitability for this role.
