ABOUT THE POSITION

 

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Technical Manager to join our dynamic and growing organisation in this key senior leadership position.  Based at our state of the art facility in Salisbury and reporting to the Operations Manager, the position is responsible for minimising operational risk and driving the technical agenda.  This diverse role manages a small team of specialist staff and oversees quality, safety, regulatory affairs, environment, research and development and process innovation across all operational sites and our diverse product portfolio.  Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and driving the strategic plan for the Technical Department
  • Ensuring legislative and regulatory compliance across Quality, Food Safety, Safety and Environmental
  • Making step changes in existing standards ensuring Bickford's is a world class beverage manufacturer
  • Driving change creating a quality and safety conscious culture whilst also supporting lean manufacturing initiatives
  • Developing commercially viable practical solutions to overcome challenges and compliance matters
  • Continuously review existing practices and methods to improve quality, systems and processes

We operate a complex, fast-paced and dynamic environment.  To be successful candidates must have the ability to think strategically coupled with a hands-on approach and proven experience in developing a collaborative workplace culture.  Tertiary qualifications in Science and significant experience in a similar role in the food, beverage or pharmaceutical industry is required as is proven experience with HACCP, GMP and ISO systems.  Excellent leadership and communication skills together with a commercially focused approach to issues and achieve outcomes are essential.  Strong organisation and innovative problem solving skills are also crucial for the incumbent to succeed.
