Trade Assistant

  • A trade background and /or a back ground with evidence to show being a trade assistant in a medium to large facility being able to carry out day to day repairs on a variety of fixtures and fittings as well as minor mechanical repairs

About the role

The role of Trade Assistant will be required to assist the Facilities Manager in covering a wide range of activities including but not limited; assisting contractors with repairs and maintenance of hospital plant, equipment, fixtures and fittings to Bruce Calvary Private Hospital, Calvary Clinic and Hyson Green.

As well as assisting other staff and departments as directed by the Facility Manager, the Trade Assistant will also be expected to carry out computer based activities such as opening and closing of work orders on BEIMS, view and make changes to building BMS and to raise and add to active risk man’s for incident review and control.

 

What you bring  

Essential:

  • A trade background and /or a back ground with evidence to show being a trade assistant in a medium to large facility being able to carry out day to day repairs on a variety of fixtures and fittings as well as minor mechanical repairs
  • To have an understanding and caring nature as well as respect of privacy and confidentiality.
  • To have a can do attitude and a team player
  • Have computer skills and knowledge to allow monitoring and interpret the building management system
  • Effective communication & interpersonal skills
  • To be part of the on call roster

Desirable:

  • Expertise and/or qualifications in specific specialty as required
  • Previous maintenance experience in a hospital
  • Experience in Building management systems
  • White Card
