Thrive is on the hunt for a Head of Talent to help our company as we scale and cement our position as Australasia’s leading public relations agency. It’s essential that Thrive’s Head of Talent comes from a PR or media agency background, is well versed on all things compliance across Australia and New Zealand, along with being a diligent and dynamic administrator. 

We are open to senior PR practitioners with HR experience, applying for the role.

This is a generalist role that will combine HR experience and knowledge of the media/advertising/PR industry, working closely with the MD, GM, office team leaders and our head of marketing (who plays a key role relative to internal communication). 

The role will be based in Sydney and manage activity across five office locations including AU and NZ. 

Hot projects upon commencement will include : 

  • Management of current recruiting needs in multiple offices

  • Upgrading our onboarding and new staff engagement programs

  • Standardising new systems across the business including updating new contracts with all staff (underway with the support of the National Admin Manager)

  • Developing a learning and development framework to build the capabilities of our team and prepare our pipeline of talent for the future 

  • Guide our performance review program and improvement methods relative to goals, KPIs and rewards

  • Devise and improve a number of important company policies including the launch of new flexi programs

The role will also :

  • Advise the leadership team on key day to day HR matters

  • Manage compliance including liaison with external legal advisors 

  • Support with immigration requirements and liaison with external immigration advisors 

  • Coaching and implementation of new leadership programs 

  • Provide strategic consul to the MD, GM and business leads 

Key experience / requirements:

  • Experience in agency land - an understanding of billable hours and professional services

  • Strong understanding of WHS and EEO practices

  • Work and implementation of an online L&D platform

  • Above average written and verbal communication skills including ability to ‘manage up’ with the executive team in particular the MD

  • Understanding of OD / L&D frameworks, structures and competencies

  • Understanding of budgeting and business process

  • Relevant Tertiary qualifications
