This is an exciting time in the energy industry with the transition to renewable energy. Recent government policy documents outline plans to facilitate increasing transmission interconnection between states and development of renewable energy zones.

 

The Opportunity

As Australia accelerates its transition to clean energy future, transmission will continue to play a critical role in ensuring safe, reliable, secure, low-carbon electricity for consumers. Strategy Analyst plays a crucial role in supporting the business navigate through these uncertainties through the development and execution of TransGrid’s Corporate Strategy.

Reporting to the Strategy Manager, you will be responsible for conducting research and analysis to help to refine the understanding of the current and future industry environment and lay out the strategic implications for TransGrid.  The Strategy Analyst will also support the development of business cases to prioritise new commercial opportunities that have the potential to deliver superior long term shareholder value.

 

As the Strategy Analyst  you will:

  • Perform industry, economic, consumer, and competitor analyses to support the development of the Corporate Strategy.
  • Present key findings of analysis to support different areas of the business in strategic and tactical decision making.
  • Support the business planning process and strategic initiatives.
  • Support the Strategy Manager engage with stakeholders across the business to define, execute and measure the success of critical strategic initiatives.
  • Support the governance and tracking of strategic initiatives to ensure the delivery of benefits. 
  • Support the growth and innovation of new ideas within the team, including developing business cases, new services, products and partnerships

 

Skills & Experience

 

What we expect from you:

  • Tertiary qualifications in business, economics, finance, engineering and/or equivalent relevant experience 
  • Experience in strategy consulting or in the power, energy or utility industries.
  • Skills and knowledge of market and industry analysis.
  • Sound verbal and written communication skills to be able to influence and present at executive and senior-level.
  • Sound interpersonal, stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
  • Sound business acumen supported by sound analytical skills and decision making.
  • Strong research and project management skills.
  • Managing deliverables against rapidly shifting priorities to respond to internal and external demands.
  • Innovative thinker.
  • Integrity and commitment to ethical practice, equity and diversity.
