NDIS Rural Coordinator

Making it Happen! school to work transition program, this newly created role presents a rewarding opportunity to lead a dedicated team in the delivery of NDIS supports throughout South Australia. You will be provided with ongoing training opportunities and a network of internal support to enable your successful career development.

Reporting to the Executive Manager NDIS & Innovation, you will be instrumental in the daily operations and expansion of NDIS activities and support to participants initially within the Murray Bridge and Port Augusta region and progressively throughout the State based on demand.   The aim of Beyond. Making it Happen! and Choices® programs is to provide delivery of services designed to maintain and develop pre-vocational, recreational and community development skills to improve quality of life, community inclusion and/or gain employment outcomes of participants.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct supervision and mentoring to team members on a daily basis and model the values and attitudes consistent with CBS Inc. philosophy
  • Effective collaboration and communication with key internal and external stakeholders regarding CBS Inc. NDIS activities including establishing and maintaining effective relationships with existing and new stakeholders including participants, families, disability services and schools
  • Contribute to the program design and improvement of participant supports
  • Maintain and review legislative changes/NDIS learnings to identify potential impacts on CBS Inc. NDIS activities as well as providing advice on implications for the CBS Inc. NDIS delivery models, policy and practice.
  • Coordinate and lead meetings with participants, families and other service providers
  • Regular participant contact including backfilling staff as required
  • Undertake and follow HR processes: shortlisting, referee checks, take part in interview panels, inductions, reviewing leave and timesheets, staff training, performance evaluations and management
  • Meet outcomes, KPI’s and reporting timelines within budget
  • Provide accurate and clear direction, information and training regarding Work Health Safety and Welfare Legislation including codes of practice, workplace procedures and instructions.

Requirements for the position:

  • Proven experience working at a senior level within disability support, particularly with clients who have complex needs
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to build and maintain strong relationships and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to demonstrate and maintain high levels of professionalism, integrity and ethics.
  • Self-motivated, innovative and positive with the ability to promote a constructive and cohesive working environment
  • Ability to develop extensive personal and professional networks within the community,  across government bodies and with educational institutions
  • Sound administration and advanced computer skills
  • Skills in project management, research, evaluation and planning will be highly regarded
  • DCSI/DHS Disability Employment Screening
  • DCSI Child Related Employment Screening or DHS Working with Children Check
  • Current Driver's Licence
  • First Aid Certificate
  • Through Their Eyes Certificate
