About the role

Reporting to the IT Manager, the purpose of this role is to service issues and requests throughout the ATB Morton Group of Companies

Key Responsibilities

  • Installation and Configuring of Users
  • Monitoring and Maintenance of Computer Systems and Networks

Overall Responsibilities

  • Installation and configure user computers and electronic devices
  • Relocation of computers and desktop phones for personnel
  • Maintain proper technical documentation as per the company’s current IT procedures
  • Resolve computer and technical issues and problems
  • Ensure seamless service is provided throughout the Group
  • Assist and train users
  • Repair and correct system and hardware malfunctions in accordance with best industry practice, manuals, instructions
  • Respond immediately to requests for emergency situations and repairs
  • Respond to IT helpdesk in a courteous, timely, effective manner
  • Prioritise, log, update, solve issues, follow-up on IT helpdesk requests
  • Monitor IT infrastructure


  • Relevant IT qualifications, highly regarded
  • Proven IT experience
  • Networking knowledge, routing, VPNs, DHCP, DNS, Proxies
  • Knowledge of Linux, highly regarded
  • Knowledge of Windows Server, desirable
  • Knowledge of Windows 7, 8 & 10 operating systems
  • Must be hands on and complete tasks all necessary tasks in the dedicated time frame
  • Strong literacy and numeracy skills
  • Show initiative and develop as the role evolves
  • Ability to successfully manage a number of tasks simultaneously
  • Very strong verbal and written communication skills required for internal and external dealings and negotiations
  • The ability to multi task, problem solve and organise activities with excellent time management
  • Have a strong attention to detail
  • Excellent people skills; the ability to converse with all levels within the organisation
  • Have the ability to analyse information and make appropriate decisions
  • Have strong interpersonal and analytical skills
  • Flexibility to take on tasks necessary to achieve a desired result
  • Accountability for own actions
  • Have a valid driver’s licence
