The Role

We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to provide engineering support to our Project Management Delivery Team by preparing and reviewing project related site, fabrication and shop drawings, creating and reviewing the bill of materials for accuracy and compliance and quality checking components and fabrications as needed.  It will include reviewing and understanding Water Authority standards and ensuing that the Project Team are kept up to date with the latest changes.    

Essential to this role is having a good sense of practical ‘buildability’ around our engineered drawings as the Project Engineer will be working between our Production and Site Teams to assist with understanding the practical requirements of constructing and installing our pump stations and odour control systems.

Key Selection Criteria

  • Experience and knowledge in the water and wastewater industry (familiarity with WSAA codes, MRWA and SEQ specifications is highly preferred)
  • Able to plan and deliver on your commitments with autonomy and across multiple projects simultaneously (essential)
  • Detail focused
  • Working knowledge on submersible pumps, valves, pipework etc.
  • Able to review civil site layouts, cross-sections, long-sections etc
  • Basic knowledge in hydraulics (preferred)

Pre-Requisites

  • A tertiary qualification in Civil or Mechanical Engineering desired
  • Minimum 3-5 years experience with complex projects in the water industry or similar process industries  
  • Experience in end to end  project engineering and assisting project managers and project delivery team
  • Excellent written & verbal communication
