IT Operations Analyst

ABAL is offering an exciting opportunity for an Operations Analyst in Sydney.

ABAL’s community involvement is based on the core philosophy of "supporting the communities we serve". The Bank is committed to supporting the communities it serves by building partnerships with community groups and charitable organisations in areas of medical research, health and wellbeing, sports, the arts, education and a number of other local community initiatives.

This will be a full time fixed term contract role (6-9 Months).

The role of the Operations Analyst is to support the Core Banking Upgrade Project, to ensure that test systems availability, integrity and completeness. 

Assist in managing the different environments with focus on core applications, including but not limited to BaNCS (core retail system), GL (general ledger), Internet Banking and Data Warehouse.

The daily tasks will include but not limited to the below:

  • Define/Modify and run multiple end of day (EOD) batches across test regions.
  • Liaising with the Test Manager/ IT lead to run adhoc daily operations tasks in the various test regions.
  • Deploying patches in the relevant test regions as and when received from the venders.
  • Maintain all Project test applications with patches and system updates to achieve appropriate compliance levels as indicated by ABAL’s Information Risk management Standards and Guidelines (IRMS&G).
  • Controlling, approving changes into the test environments.
  • Manage user access to the test environments.
  • Troubleshoot issues raised by testers and provide relevant logs to venders.

Knowledge, skills and experience include:

  • Qualified in IT or equivalent – TAFE or higher accreditation
  • Experience of minimum 1-2 years in either IT operations or applications
  • Basic ITIL understating.  
  • Experience working within incident management handling – mainly trouble shooting
  • Desirable knowledge of UNIX commands.
  • Experience in Monitoring and Reporting software’s such as JAMS or other job scheduling software, SQL reporting services and Basic SQL query knowledge
  • Intermediary level for Microsoft Office Applications
