Opportunity for an experienced ILS Specialist, Located Canberra, Competitive salary

This well-established organisation is in search of an Integrated Logistics Specialist to join their team. You will bring with you the ability to work in a cross functional team, while also providing leadership where needed.

Your new role

As ILS Specialist, you will be responsible for a team of ILS engineers, analysts and tech writers to define, develop and deliver ILS services to organisation programmes. Being the primary point of contact for customers, you will have the ability to develop, plan, design and participate in design reviews, analysis and qualification testing. Ensuring deliverables meet project requirements, you will draw on your experience of ILS methodologies, Reliability, Availability and Maintainability RAM understanding to provide advice and documentation.

Key responsibilities include

  • Establish and implement support systems and processes
  • Logistics support analysis
  • Risk assessments
  • Stakeholder engagement and liaison
  • Identify, forecast and plan the appropriate ILS activities.
  • Identify, analyse and anticipate risks against work performed and establish the risk mitigation strategies. Manage and plan work schedules and expenditure for the team.
  • Review project and contractor design and documentation to ensure all logistics considerations are addressed. Manage, update, and create ILS documentation, including plans, technical data/documentation plans, reports, technical data lists, ILS instructions, transition plans and procedures. Ensuring the integration of ILS methodologies with internal processes.


What you'll need to succeed

Ideally you will have ILS experience in an Australian Defence environment with the ability to prepare and maintain ILS processes and documentation.

  • Relevant qualifications in Logistics disciplines
  • Previous experience in supporting large and complex acquisition and sustainment projects
  • A thorough understanding of Defence logistics applicable to acquisition projects
  • Experience in Logistics Support Analysis in a Defence environment
  • A thorough understanding of Defence Configuration Management processes
  • Experience in the transition to sustainment of acquisition projects
  • NV1 Security Clearance
