Management Accountant

The Management Accountant role is responsible for providing an analytical approach to objectively review company performance and to seek ways to streamline systems and internal processes that deliver enhanced commercial outcomes for the business.  You will provide high quality insights to the local leadership and key group stakeholders on business performance, achieved through the reporting, analysis, budgeting and forecasting process.

Key responsibilities:

  • Budgeting and forecasting;
  • Monthly management P&L and balance sheet;
  • Update cash flow forecast model monthly or as required;
  • Be a business partner to various non-finance areas of the business;
  • Scenario analysis to assist with decision support for senior management;
  • Continuous development and drive of process improvement across the business;
  • Balance sheet reconciliations prepared monthly;
  • Proactively investigate problems and present practical and compliant accounting solutions
  • Ad-hoc analysis;

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor degree in Accounting. CA or CPA qualifications are highly desirable
  • 3-5 years experience in a financial/accounting role ideally in manufacturing, construction or other heavy industrial environment
  • Experience in preparation of budgets, financial and management reports and variance analysis
  • Working knowledge of current accounting standards, principles and practices
  • Experience with statutory accounting
  • Working knowledge of relevant legislation, including taxation law
  • Commercial / business acumen
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal skills, communication skills and negotiation skill
