Animal Technician


About the Job

We are seeking two Animal Technicians who will ensure that all animals (small rodents and fish) used in research at UniSA are housed and cared for in accordance with best practice and legislative requirements. The position assists with the supervision and training of staff in daily animal husbandry duties including health monitoring, feeding, cleaning and housing of animals. The position also plays an important role in assisting with the supervision and training of researchers in animal handling, monitoring and experimental procedures.

Skills and Experience

To be successful in this role you will have demonstrated skills and experience with laboratory animal care and a good understanding of ethical issues and animal welfare in a research environment. Your interpersonal skills and proven ability to communicate and collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders will ensure your success in the coordination and day to day supervision of facility staff and researchers.
