Employment Officer (DES)

Community Bridging Services (CBS) Inc. is a South Australian not-for-profit organisation celebrating over 24 years of successful service delivery in the disability employment and recreational/ Choices® CBS programs. We have two opportunities available at our Kilkenny and Elizabeth sites. These roles present a fantastic opportunity to work within a supportive team environment where you will be provided with ongoing training and opportunities to build your career path. 

You will support clients with a disability, injury, or medical condition to find open employment by focusing on their strengths and interests and improving their vocational and community independence skills. 

Key responsibilities:

  • Pre-employment preparation and arranging training for clients
  • Identifying vocational and non-vocational interventions to address barriers, including organising work placement, volunteer work, training options
  • Liaising with client's health professionals for support with employment plans
  • Job search, reverse marketing and developing partnerships with employers and local businesses
  • Continuous engagement and employer follow up
  • Developing employment-related goals using a strength-based approach
  • Supporting clients to maintain their employment through post-placement/ongoing support
  • Meeting required Key Performance Indicator (KPI) outcomes

  Requirements for the position:

  • Understanding and empathy for people with a disability, injury and/or medical condition
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • The ability to work unsupervised
  • Intermediate computer skills
  • High level of communication skills
  • DCSI Disability Employment Screening
  • DCSI Child Related Employment Screening or DHS Working with Children Check
  • Current Driver's Licence
  • First Aid Certificate
