Established in 2016, Daybreak Cropping is a national broadacre cropping business managed by Warakirri Asset Management. With seven large-scale cropping aggregations, covering over 75,000 hectares in Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria and Western Australia, Daybreak Cropping has become one of Australia’s leading agribusinesses. In Western Australia, the group owns and manages more than 41,000ha across three aggregations located in the Northern, Eastern and Southern cropping regions. Consistent with Daybreak Cropping’s continued successes and development, the group is now seeking to appoint a Regional Operations Manager, Western Australia.  

 

About the Position:

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, this an exceptional career opportunity to drive the operational performance of the farms whilst proactively identifying potential new acquisitions for the growth of the business. As an integral member of the leadership team, the Regional Operations Manager will be accountable for leading a team of farm managers, identifying new farm acquisition opportunities, implementing farm management strategies and developing regional relationships with service providers. This highly sought-after opportunity will be based in Western Australia (flexible location) with travel to the Melbourne Corporate Office, for up to one week per month.  
 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing strong safety leadership
  • Operational and strategic management of the Western Australian farming operations
  • Leading a team of Farm Managers to reach their individual and team potential
  • New property acquisition; with a focus on early identification and detailed due diligence
  • Executive-level planning and strategy execution to meet the investment performance objectives
  • Relationship Management; with a broad group of service providers, vendors, industry stakeholders and business partners
  • Program managing multiple operational and business development projects
  • Timely monitoring and reporting on all facets of the operational and financial performance of the farming enterprises
  • Maintaining an unwavering commitment to Daybreak Cropping’s values being integrity, safety, people, innovation, excellence and sustainability.



Experience & Education:

The ideal candidate will possess a track record of developing high performing teams to deliver great outcomes from a key leadership position in the agribusiness sector. We are seeking a dynamic leader who is both a proactive and commercial thinker; one who possesses excellent skills in planning, communication, business administration and strategy execution. The successful candidate will have the ability to formulate and execute well-resourced and clear plans, whilst leveraging relationships to consistently deliver on agreed outcomes. Candidates with broadacre cropping experience and knowledge of Western Australian soil types are encouraged to apply. In addition, tertiary qualifications in agribusiness, business or commerce, will be highly regarded.
