Senior HR Business Partner

We are looking for an experienced, partnership focused and forward-thinking Senior HR Business Partner to provide support and leadership to our Business Partnering team while supporting the wider organisation in achieving their strategic objectives.

You will be responsible for developing and leading Barwon Water's operational HR, business partner and reporting frameworks, and strategic workforce planning activities to ensure alignment with the high-performance strategy, organisational culture and evolving needs of the business.

About the role

You'll lead and develop the HR Business Partnering team to be trusted strategic partners, adding value to the business through strategic, flexible and client-valued HR consultancy and advisory services.

You'll be primarily responsible for the organisation's employee relations policies, processes and procedures, the development and implementation of Barwon Water's strategic workforce planning practices.

You'll partner with our organisational development team to embed our organisational development programs through constructive coaching and leadership.

You'll use your expertise to drive Enterprise Agreement negotiation processes, provide strategic and operational advice and ongoing support on employee relations issues, dispute resolution and industrial advocacy including managing escalated or complex cases where required.

You'll partner with the business to develop and deliver effective people programs, policies and practices that align with the strategic direction of the business and contribute to building high performance, capability and culture.

You have excellent communication skills and you build strong relationships, trust and rapport with people.

You're an experienced people leader, and role model strong personal values to instil trust and respect in others.

You're a problem solver with an inquisitive mindset; you drive innovation and improvement.

You are committed to best for business outcomes, having the confidence to speak up and challenge senior leaders.

You're experienced in providing exceptional business partnering support and have high-level knowledge of relevant legislation and industrial instruments and frameworks.

You're commercially and politically astute.

 

What we're looking for

  • Extensive relevant and practical experience in human resources and industrial relations.
  • Exceptional leadership capability and demonstrated ability to coach and develop others.
  • Experience in the delivery of strategic workforce planning activities.
  • A degree or higher in human resources or a related field.
  • High-level knowledge of applicable legislation, industrial relations instruments and frameworks.
  • A current Victorian driver's licence.
