 The Opportunity

 

As a Health and Strategy Analyst within Medibank, you will work closely with the Healthcare and Strategy division to deliver analytical insights and recommendations to enable timely and informed decision-making. You will have the opportunity to work on industry-leading projects to help improve healthcare funding and outcomes. Your ability to build constructive relationships with stakeholders and your strength in critical thinking will help deliver actionable insights to the business. As an achiever with a growth mindset, you have an interest in emerging analytical methods to help improve current processes and help solve problems. You will be working in a talented and diverse team that provides opportunities for growth and development.

 Key responsibilities will include:

  • Establishing positive relationships with team and stakeholders by showing awareness of individual needs and perspectives
  • Critical thinking to develop hypothesis that will enable data-driven decision making and problem solving.
  • Developing appropriate models using tools (SAS, SQL, R, Python, Excel) to test business hypothesis and assess impacts
  • Summarising and presenting data outputs and complex ideas in a coherent story including meaningful data visualisations
  • Contributing to advanced analytics projects using machine learning and/or forecasting

 About You

To be successful in this role, you will have working experience in analytics, economics, insights or other quantitative field within a corporate environment. You thrive from solving problems, leveraging your strong critical thinking ability and creativity. You enjoy working both individually and within a team environment. You have a passion for data and analytics and have a keen interesting in applying your skills in the healthcare sector.

 Other requirements include:

•              Tertiary qualification in analytics, statistics, economics or a related discipline;

•              Strong communication and interpersonal skills;

•              Intermediate ability in SAS, SQL, R or Python, as well as Excel.

•              Tableau or other data visualisation and storytelling experience would be advantageous; and

•              Previous experience working in the health, insurance, or consulting sectors would be desirable
