ILS Operations Coordinator

Luerssen Australia is a subsidiary of Lürssen, a 4th generation family-owned German company that builds Naval defence vessels and luxury yachts from its nine shipyards across Northern Germany.

Luerssen Australia is engaged as the prime contractor to build 12 Offshore Patrol Vessels for the Department of Defence over a 12 year period. 

 

This is a fixed term, full-time opportunity until 30 June 2022.

 

The successful applicant will be required to complete an Australian Defence Force Security Clearance process. Australian citizenship is therefore mandatory.

The incumbent is responsible for providing support to ILS activities within Luerssen Australia and to its' subcontractors.  The role is based in our Osborne office at the ASC South site.

 

The Role

  • Coordinate subcontractor data as per SDRL.
  • Work with Subcontract Delivery Manager to ensure on time deliveries from subcontractors.
  • Work with Luerssen book captains to ensure on-time deliveries from subcontractors.
  • Provision of data to Subcontractors to assist with their SDRL obligations
  • Implement directions and instructions from the ILS Manager.
  • Maintain deliverables and organise required updates regarding technical data, coordinate and plan meetings & work groups.
  • Compile technical documentation and data
  • And other ILS activities as required
  • Participate in ILS, Engineering and Configuration meetings
  • Contribute to the identification and management of risks in accordance with the risk management plan

 

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in project management of defence contracts/ programs or in Integrated Logistics Support
  • Experience in Defence, construction, commercial or other industry
  • Experience in procurement, logistics, stock control, production & processing or document management highly desirable
  • Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent technical writing skills.
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in the MS Office Suite of products
  • Ability to handle escalated complaints and build contract related relationships
  • Strong organisational and planning skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge of work force management functions
  • Proven ability to prepare written reports, briefings, updates and other documentation to internal and external stakeholders
