About the role 

As Park & Motel Managers you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations at Broken Hill Tourist Park & Sturt Motel. You will manage all services offered within the park and motel and ensure a Safe and Compliant environment. You will lead a diverse group of park & motel team members in meeting financial targets and key performance targets. You will demonstrate excellent leadership skills as you guide and lead the team to create the ultimate holiday experience for our guests at Broken Hill Tourist Park & Sturt Motel. 

About your duties 

The following duties list below is not exhaustive  

  • In this role you will provide daily leadership and management to your team to ensure they focus on and drive a customer-centric approach throughout their daily tasks and functions.  

  • You will assist the Owners with people management activities such as the on-job training and provision of regular accurate coaching and feedback for all team members. 

  • You will deliver financial targets as outlined by the Owners by tracking and taking timely action to address any shortfalls and by managing budget expenses. 

  • You will ensure efficient management practices are employed across the park and motel in areas including front office, staffing, financial controls, equipment maintenance, grounds maintenance and WHS, Electrical testing and tagging, asset inventory and management.  

  • As you lead our team you will create and maintain a positive and highly motivated work environment, where the values and behaviors of Broken Hill Tourist Park & Sturt Motel are demonstrated through our Vision, Values and Code of Conduct. 

Our ideal candidate: 

Our ideal candidates for this hands-on role will be well presented with extensive and demonstrated experience in a similar environment. Reporting to the Park & Motel Owners, you will: 

  • Be authentic in customer service, interpersonal and communication skills 

  • Be highly organized and able to plan and monitor. 

  • Be calm under pressure and adaptable to change. 

  • Park & Motel Development and CAPEX experience will be held in high regard. 

  • Be experienced in local area marketing and managing of social media platforms (Facebook & Instagram and other social mediums) 

  • Be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite 

  • Be experienced in / able to rapidly learn the Reservation Management Software (Newbook) 

  • Be available to work weekdays and weekends, public holidays, rostered night on-call and shift work. 

  • A valid driver’s license is essential, manual license is desirable 

  • Valid first aid certificate.
