Job Overview

We are looking for an innovative, passionate and experienced General Manager to join our Executive Team and manage our amazing creative team. In this position you will lead and drive operations to ensure our high customer standard is maintained. We are looking for a strong leader and results-driven General Manager to direct and manage our organisations business activities and to develop and implement effective business strategies via a highly engaged and motivated team supported by staff training incentive programs.

About you

As the General Manager you will provide leadership, vision, guidance, direction and collaboration to drive growth and ensure delivery of agreed outcomes. You will bring your extensive experience and commercial acumen to the position. Your sound understanding of operations management, strong leadership and communication skills will enable you and your team to achieve targets. Your entrepreneurial spirit and vision in directing business functions will assist our organisation in maintaining relationships with clients, generating new business, increasing staff productivity, improving service, ensuring sustainability and meeting business objectives.

Relevant technical or business qualifications preferred

Key Responsibilities

  • Business Strategy and Implementation
    • Ensuring a clear concise strategy is understood across the company and a commitment to implement at the highest level.
    • Overseeing daily operations ensuring the smooth seamless integration across functions
    • Managing costs and maximising operational efficiencies to ensure positive ROI
    • Developing and implement growth strategies including identifying business opportunities aligned with MD input.
  • Reporting
    • Ability to ensure high level of insight and functional reporting is available to MD and shared at Executive level
    • Develop and implement business plans and budget forecasts maintaining budget resources. Ensuring they are tracked and adjusted as required
    • Sound understanding of business key performance indicators including role out and tracking across direct reports.

 

  • People Management and Customer engagement
    • Regular evaluation of direct report performance and productivity monitoring
    • Quality staff recruitment and ongoing coaching and training plans in place for employees
    • Formulating policies and ensuring that a high level of compliance is maintained
    • Ability to drive high engagement levels and ability to mentor and coach a high performing team
    • Engaging with vendors, ensuring customer service excellence

General Manager Requirements:

  • Strong leadership credentials that include a proven track record in managing a high-performance business and retaining high performing teams
  • Need to have immediate credibility and be able to quickly earn the trust and confidence of the team and broader business in line with our company values
  • Be able to drive at a pace to match the MD and executive team expectations
  • Possess the appetite and stamina to take the business to a new level. This role will oversee a growth agenda; therefore, we will be seeking candidates with a demonstratable track record of achieving this in other settings
  • Degree in Business Management or Masters in Business Administration highly desirable
  • Good knowledge of different business functions and ability to partner across functions
  • Highly organised
  • Strong work ethic
  • Effective interpersonal skills
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Computer literate
  • Proactive and solution orientated nature

The successful candidate for this role requires the ability to manage the current operations of a highly successful business including mentoring and coaching a high performing team.  They will demonstrate the highest level of professionalism reflecting membership of the executive team reporting directly to the MD. Possessing excellent communication skills, superior knowledge of business functions, exceptional budgeting ,finance skills and strong leadership qualities, they will lead the Business Operations  to profitable growth  and be seen as the partner of choice for highly effective retail point of sale displays
