Commercial Lawyer 3-5 years PAE - Boutique Specialist Firm

  • Run your own files
  • Great mix of commercial work
  • Great package, bonus + work-life balance

The Firm

Our client is a well-regarded specialist boutique law firm with offices on Australia's Eastern Seaboard.

It is currently seeking a generalist commercial lawyer for its Sydney office, who can act and advise on a wide range of commercial matters/transactions.

The Role

Most of the firm's clients are from the real estate sector, however experience specifically from this industry is not essential, as the role offers a wide range of corporate/commercial work.

This role will see you working on a broad range of commercial matters including:

  • Sale and purchase of business and rent rolls;
  • Shareholder agreements;
  • Corporate structuring (including trusts, partnerships, mergers and joint ventures);
  • General commercial advice and contract review/preparation;
  • Licensing;
  • Franchising;
  • Employment agreements;
  • Real Estate Agency and Residential tenancy law and practice;
  • Some conveyancing, leasing and other property work;
  • Disputes work - this is not required for the role as there is a litigation team in the firm, but you can do dispute work if you are keen to do so.

About You

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have 3-5 years PAE in commercial advice and transactional law, ideally gained at a boutique firm;
  • Have solid experience drafting and reviewing a wide range of commercial agreements;
  • Have a practical/commercial approach;
  • Be able to work autonomously but also be a team player;
  • Be keen to get your teeth stuck in to a variety of commercial matters & not be afraid to give new matters a go.

The role will suit a confident lawyer who has gained broad commercial experience at a boutique firm. You will need to be comfortable managing strong clients & have a can-do attitude.

Benefits

Our client offers good quality work with lots of variety, work–life balance and a competitive salary + bonus. The firm also boasts a vibrant and down to earth culture. You will enjoy end of week drinks and an environment which is supportive while giving lawyers plenty of responsibility & autonomy.

Please email your CV to jgrasso@legalpersonnel.com.au (eference no. 9651) or call Julie Grasso on 0410 493 710 for a confidential discussion.
