Counsellor - COVID-19 Mental Health Support Line

About the Role

The SA COVID-10 Mental Health Support Line aims to provide high quality phone and video counselling, information and referral to support callers deal with increased anxiety and mental health challenges that have arisen as a result of quarantine and general distress caused by COVID-19. As such, we are seeking experienced counsellors to work on a rotating roster for the coming months.

 

As a counsellor on the Mental Health Support Line you will work as part of a collaborative team to deliver the following:

  • Provide an initial brief counselling session to callers from the general public and people in isolation and quarantine
  • Schedule follow-up appointments where requred
  • Conduct referrals to partner agencies and other relevant service providers
  • Ensure records of all sessions are updated as per administrative processes
  • Working against a 24/7 rotating roster.

About You

You will have demonstrated experience in the following areas:

  • Providing clients focussed strenght-based counselling
  • Completing mental health assessments
  • Assessing risk in relation to personal safety
  • Qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, or Couselling.

The Salary range will be dependent on experience and/or qualifications.
