About the Organisation
Redland City Council is a progressive local government organisation, situated on the naturally wonderful Redlands Coast near Brisbane, home to the crystal blue waters of Southern Moreton Bay with 335km of coastline, beautiful hinterland and coastal villages. The region enjoys a strong heritage, connections to the oldest living culture on Earth, with island gems just a short hop from Brisbane. With a current population over 150,000 and strong population growth forecasts, the Council is forward thinking, engaged and focussed on enriching community lifestyles operating under the four principles of sustainability of balancing decisions through consideration of environmental, community, economic and governance impacts.

About the Position
Reporting to the Group Manager City Operations, this key management position will oversee the operational teams delivering on the ground maintenance of a broad range of infrastructure assets across the roads, drainage and marine portfolios.  The position interfaces closely with asset managers across the organisation who prescribe engineering maintenance standards and requirements to optimise the life and integrity of assets. To achieve these outcomes, this role oversees operational plans, programs and activities to mobilise crews, contractors, equipment, and materials. Safety is paramount and the role has a strong zero harm leadership focus.

This position also has a strong external customer focus, ensuring the timely response to a high volume of requests and actions relating to corrective maintenance requirements (for example, grinding footpaths, addressing potholes/crack sealing, unblocking drains).

About the Person
We are seeking an experienced maintenance leader who has overseen similar delivery teams/assets and can demonstrate a strong grasp of preventative and corrective maintenance principles. You will also have a track record of programming and delivering maintenance work safely and successfully.

To achieve success in the position you will be an accomplished leader with an inclusive and collaborative style, with the ability to help your team grow and develop and create a best-practice, safety first and high performance culture.
