About the role

This is a very busy role that goes beyond the standard financial accounting and maintenance of status quo. We challenge ourselves daily.

Applicants must be technically competent, ideally have hands-on previous cost accounting experience, and have the energy & confidence to deliver improvement within the greater team across all our sites.

Reporting to the CFO, this role is based at Laucke HO in Mundy St Bendigo.  There will be some need to travel to Bridgewater (38 km or half hour drive from Bendigo) a few times each month.

This position has the following responsibilities

  • Monthly close including all journals, analysis, balance sheet reconciliations and reporting pack collation for the Board
  • Detailed analytics and commentary that goes to the root causes of why for senior management
  • Budgeting and forecasting
  • Maintenance of standard costs, BOMs and routings to reflect latest production specifications
  • Working with various production managers and supervisors to close out cost leakages
  • Working with commercial sales in NPD to cost potential new products and to assist in pricing decisions
  • Support and analysis of monthly trade spend and promotions
  • Working with our AP and AR and Payroll teams to assist as required
  • Co-ordination of stocktakes
  • Tracking CAPEX projects
  • Insurance, tax compliance assistance, and external audit requirements

Essential skills and experience:

  • Previous 5+ years manufacturing or retail accounting experience, preferably in FMCG environment utilising QAD or SAP or similar
  • Excel guru, able to source, compile and interpret datasets
  • Proactive, competent, accountable, positive, resilient strong team player
  • CPA or CA qualified
