As a Case Worker you will provide effective service delivery, ensuring case management, assessment and referral, education and support are provided in accordance with TSA guidelines, ensuring a comprehensive participant led recovery based service is provided.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide efficient day to day service delivery through education, interventions, group work, assessment, referral and case work within a recovery orientated and person led service environment.
  • To develop and monitor Individual Treatment Plans and maintain case management documentation, records, reports and data collection, utilising established case planning procedures.
  • Demonstrate commitment to an environment that values continuous improvement and innovation in the delivery of high quality services.
  • Undertake ad-hoc duties as requested by Senior Case Manager and/or Manager
  • To assist in the supervision and implementation of Work Therapy of the clients.
  • Acquire and maintain a good working knowledge of referral and support options for participants.
  • Work collaboratively and professionally with other services.


Required experience:

  • Knowledge of AOD/Gambling, Community Services and Health Sectors.
  • Demonstrated experience and ability to work with those impacted by substance abuse, gambling and mental health conditions.
  • Experience working with people from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander background.
  • Experience working with people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds and religions.
  • Experience working in collaboration with other organisations.
  • Experience in a leadership role.

Qualifications and Mandatory Requirements:

  • Minimum of Diploma level qualification in a relevant discipline
  • Professional development required to maintain skills for the role.
  • Undertakes AOD Practice Supervision.
  • Mandatory National Police Check
  • Current Driver’s licence
  • Current NSW Working With Children Registration
  • Demonstrated ability to deal with unpredictable situations and behaviours utilising de-escalation techniques.
  • Comply with The Salvation Army Organisational Code of Conduct which includes an alcohol, gambling and drug free workplace
  • At least two years’ experience in recovery, if applicable.
  • Sound computer literacy
  • Ability to critically reflect on professional practice and attitudes
  • Ability to develop and tailor programs to meet participants’ needs
  • Seeks new ideas, embraces new opportunities and adapts to change.
  • TSA Core values and behaviours demonstrated in all work related activities
