Energy Trade specialises in delivering cost effective energy solutions for all market types.  Their services vary from energy procurement and management to energy generation and energy efficient technologies for residential, commercial and industrial projects. Energy Trade is experiencing growth and is expanding their team across Australia.

Reporting to the Board, your mandate as CEO, will be to take responsibility for planning, developing and implementing strategic and operational outcomes in order to enhance business performance and growth opportunities in accordance with the Board’s objectives.  Your leadership and commercial acumen will be critical as you implement strategies to achieve sales, service delivery, stakeholder engagement and commercial objectives across the business. 

Specific accountabilities include:

  • Lead an agile, dynamic and innovative organisational culture, focussed on capability, high performance and continuous improvement to achieve organisational objectives
  • Operational leadership capability, with highly developed emotional intelligence, interpersonal and influencing skills.
  • Manage the business to achieve both financial and non-financial targets determined by the Board and agreed by the shareholders, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory obligations.
  • Develop and deliver on Energy Trade’s strategy, initiatives and work plans.
  • Build collaborative and solid working relationships with the Australian Energy Regulator (AER), and other energy and utility stakeholders to understand and drive industry improvements and productivity.
  • Provide proactive input to the Board and ensure responsive delivery of Board decisions.
  • Demonstrate track record in negotiation and product delivery in the energy and utility sector.
  • Ability to liaise and cooperatively engage with very senior counterparts, regulators to understand their needs and deliver key strategic projects and products.
  • Identify and promote innovative research and products that will influence the future of energy in Australia.

Identified as having significant leadership, strategic and commercial talent, you must possess drive and determination to succeed in an ever-changing environment. You will demonstrate outstanding communication skills and have the ability to influence and negotiate with numerous stakeholders. Your relevant Industry background will exude strong commercial acumen with particular focus on opening up new opportunities and engaging with the market to stimulate participation and collaboration.  Finally, it goes without saying that you will be skilled in inspiring individuals and teams in the pursuit of results.
