About the Role:

AusGroup are currently seeking a suitably experienced Commercial Manager to join our team based in our West Perth corporate office.

 

The position is responsible for providing commercial, legal, financial, risk, and contractual expertise across the AusGroup businesses. You will be required to undertake successful negotiations throughout the process, from pre-contracts through to project delivery and closeout.

Core duties will include:

 

  • Conduct negotiation and finalisation of contract terms and conditions, consistent with business risk profile  
  • Review and provide advice on commercial solutions (including legal, financial and operational factors) under the Head Contract
  • Develop and implement strategies so the contract team understand the contract rights and obligations
  • Conduct risk and opportunity assessments for incorporation into the Contract Management Plan(s)
  • Put in place plans and procedures at a project level that address commercial issues and ensure contract compliance
  • Completion of regular audit of contract compliance / risk controls, review of risk profile of major Contracts
  • Management of Contractual disputes
  • Provide training & support to project contract administrators
  • Develop subcontract agreements, and ensure that terms and conditions are in accordance with AusGroup conditions prior to engagement
  • Accountability for the Procurement function
  • Advise Sectors and Services line leads on appropriate commercial frameworks and solutions to win profitable work.

     

     

    About you:

     

  • Relevant Degree in law, commerce. finance, construction management, engineering or a related discipline
  • Demonstrated management and organisational skills
  • The ability to manage contractual obligations in a timely manner
  • Strong financial and business acumen
  • Experience working within a contracting business across a portfolio of construction lump sum jobs and scheduler rates
  • Procurement experience would be desirable
  • Experience in collaborative and consultative processes at a professional level
  • An ability to work flexibly and adaptively in a complex environment with multiple stakeholders.
