Operator

This position is based at Beharra Springs Gas Facility (Near Dongara, WA), this is a Drive In – Drive Out role on 2 weeks on and 2 weeks off roster.

Reporting to Production Shift Superintendent, the Production Technician is responsible for operating plant and gas field equipment in a safe and cost-effective manner to ensure gas production is optimised with minimum down time.

Duties and Responsibilities include:

  • Safe operation and maintenance of equipment and processing facilities.
  • Accurate recording and reporting of production data.
  • Use of the Permit to Work and Enterprise Asset Management Systems.
  • Preparation of plant/equipment for maintenance. 
  • Minimum interruption to supply by ensuring operational activities are carried out safely and efficiently.
  • Maintain integrity of operation by responding to emergency situations identified by control systems. 
  • Log sheets filled out in correct manner and kept up to date.
  • Troubleshoot problems to determine cause of operation problems or failures.
  • Participation in Site Emergency Response duties.

Skills and Experience required:

  • Proven history of identifying issues and raising said issues in the correct forum and manner.
  • Proven productive and reliable work ethic.
  • Proven skills in communicating and conflict resolution.
  • Trade qualification and/or other related industry role background appropriate as per position on offer.
  • Demonstrated experience in hydrocarbon processing industry.
  • Ability to use computerised maintenance systems and information/document archive retrieval systems. 
  • Understanding of Permit to Work and Equipment Isolation Systems.
