Operations Manager

1300TempFence is the leading and most progressive Temporary Fencing Hire & Sales company in Australia. It is part of the Ready Industries group, which incorporates businesses including 1300TempFence, 1300Dunnys, 1300Hoarding, The Printed Shade Cloth Company and many more.

We are seeking to employ an Operations Manager within our Sydney Division that has an operations background and has experience in Hire or Logistics.

The Operations Manager is responsible for managing the day to day operations of the Business and its Contractors, as well as helping drivers load and unload stock and keeping the Branch clean and organised.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage delivery of day to day workload
  • Complete day to day operational requests from the State Manager
  • Manage subcontractors and yard staff
  • Liaise with site contact to deliver jobs
  • Complete weekly and monthly stocktake
  • Liaise with head office regarding stock availability
  • Conduct site counts
  • Maintain good working relationship with customers, co-workers and management
  • Liaise with our local toilet facilitators
  • Conduct installation audits
  • Daily data entry using our hire management software
  • Loading and unloading trucks
  • Forklift driving
  • Ensure yard is continually tidy, organised and well maintained in various weather conditions
  • Ensure materials are stored properly, including covering those materials as required
  • Move materials to and from storage areas, delivery vehicles, freight containers, by hand or using other equipment
  • Keep all machinery and tools clean and in good working order for safe usage
  • Report all issues regarding waste, damage, equipment, safety or other aspects that affect the business
  • Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned

To be successful for this role, you need the following:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in the same or similar position
  • Strong Computer skills and ability to learn in house program (Hire It Out)
  • Previous hire industry experience (desirable)
  • Current Forklift Licence (essential)
  • Good organisational skills and ability to multi-task
  • Ability to work well under pressure and prioritise tasks
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Be well presented with great communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to contribute to a team and complete your own work autonomously
  • Excellent organisation and time management skills
  • Valid Car Licence
  • Must be able to safely operate equipment including a forklift in all types of weather conditions
  • Be physically fit
