Cost Controller

About the Role:

AusGroup are currently seeking a Project Cost Control Lead to assist in the activities for monitoring and controlling costs to ensure that AusGroup projects are accomplished within the approved cost, schedule, quality and performance criteria.

We are looking for candidates who can demonstrate the following:

  • Prepare, monitor and maintain individual resourced schedules in consultation with project team
  • Analyse schedule activities to determine basic job steps
  • Integrate all plans and/or schedules into the overall schedule
  • Leveraging best practice and technology, establish and maintain structured processes of gathering, analysing, reporting and communicating performance data across all projects
  • Forecasting costs, both direct and indirect, including labour, materials, equipment and subcontractors
  • Ensure alignment with scheduling (current budget hours used)
  • Monitor project progress, manpower and productivity by discipline
  • Develop and manage data analytics tools used across engineering
  • Review and manage contractor engagements in line with Contractor Management Framework
  • Produce and publish weekly progress, analysis, cost and monthly financial reports
  • Plan and deliver cost control reports and cost analysis

Required Experience / Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Cost Control or a similar role
  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Business Administration, Finance or related degree
  • Good understanding of project management and planning cycles/phases
  • Project scheduling, high competent in the use of MS Project and P6
  • Experience working in resources or construction industry, preferably on Major LNG projects
  • Ability to work in a team to deliver high quality work in a timely manner and in compliance with contracted commitments
  • Ability to communicate and work with a variety of internal and external contract stakeholders
