Interchange is seeking a dedicated and experienced Lead Support Worker to provide leadership  and mentoring support for other Support Workers, working in complex support teams.

This role will be providing direct support to people using a recovery based approach to help achieve their goals. Supporting and supervising teams to develop and maintain quality services. Liaising with families and key stakeholders as required.

The role is currently a minimum of 30.4 hours (0.8 FTE) per week with availability to work Monday to Friday (6.00 am – 8.00 pm) essential, including occasional evenings and weekends. Located in the Mandurah - Peel area with flexibility to travel within the greater metropolitan area are essential for further consideration.

The successful candidates will have:

  • Qualification in Mental Health or Disability (eg Certificate IV) AND minimum 2 years' experience in mental health
  • Experience working with a Positive Behaviour Support Model and applied knowledge of restrictive practices and be able to demonstrate situational awareness
  • Experience in providing leadership, supervision, and support
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to take initiative and problem solve to ensure that high quality, customer focus, safe and well organised services are delivered
  • Computer Literacy, including Microsoft Office Suite and smart device applications
  • Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work with individuals from a range of social, financial, and cultural backgrounds.
  • WA 'C' class driver's licence (international licences will NOT be considered)
  • Suitable, reliable vehicle, comprehensively insured
  • Australian residency or an unrestricted work visa.
  • Current CPR and First Aid Certificate
  • Current National Police Clearance (within last 3 months).

The Details

This position will be employed at a Level 3 (Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010 (the "Modern Award") and conditions under the National Employment Standards ("NES").
