Demand Planner

In this role you will support the development of the merchandise strategy through forecasting and analysing basic articles. You will control the quantification and distribution of basic stock through DC’s and into stores based on predetermined parameters inclusive of space allocated, stock levels and item width as agreed with the Buyer and Store Operations.

This exciting opportunity will be responsible for the following accountabilities.

  • Review statistical forecasts using exception-based reporting
  • Adjust forecasted sales to ensure current trends are considered and changes to weekly sales shape
  • New store and new lines forecasting and historical review
  • Promotional forecast adjustments
  • Ensure sales potential of all Basic items are optimised by balancing the inventory by DC
  • Ensure overseas ordering is maintained
  • Gathering and assessing issues effective store demand

The preferred candidate will demonstrate the following skills and experience:

  • Previous experience working in a fast pace retailer or in a big box
  • Working knowledge of merchandise systems, preferably SAP
  • Planning and Demand forecasting experience
  • Highly motivated, lateral thinking, effective problem-solving capabilities and can demonstrate true strengths in advanced data analytics
  • Ability to influence and negotiate outcomes, work cross functionally across all levels of the business
